Relationship & Sex Therapy
There are many reasons that my clients come to me for individual or relationship therapy. It can provide a confidential, non-judgmental setting in which to self reflect and create change, whether you're in the midst of a crisis, or if things are going well but you want to be proactive and ensure they remain positive.
Relationally we can become stuck, consumed by conflict, and what was once a thriving relationship can come to a grinding halt. Our sexual selves, whether in a relationship or not, can be presented with an unexpected obstacle; we may become overwhelmed by new desires or find old desires are no longer accessible.
Specialist relationship and sex therapy can support those experiencing intimacy and sexual difficulties both physical and emotional in nature.
My hope is that this site can answer some of the following questions for you:
My name is Kim Goodwin-Wheatle, and I'm a relationship and psychosexual therapist, devoted to providing a safe, sexually affirmative space in which to support individuals and couples to address their communication and/ or sexual concerns.
I offer therapy for couples/polyamorous units and individuals experiencing intimacy and sexual difficulties both physical and emotional in nature. Sexual difficulties are often uncomfortable to talk about and can have a far reaching impact on other areas of life. All my clients receive the same level of confidentiality, although I do have considerable experience working with clients who require additional levels of discretion, due to their public or professional roles.
I work with a variety of issues as detailed on the Relationship and Sex pages of this site. My experience has been gained by working in private practice and with the NHS. I am a registered member of the College of Sexual & Relationship Therapists (COSRT) as well as the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists (NCIP)
My integrative therapeutic approach utilities theory and tools from various modalities, enabling me to provide a tailored approach best suited to you. I recognise the importance of cultural differences and diversity in the helping relationship, with respect to age, disability, gender, sexuality and ethnicity.
It is always a privilege to bear witness to the journey of self discovery that takes place in the therapeutic setting.
Never underestimate the power of being seen. - Brené Brown
